About Carmela Cattuti

Carmela began painting in 1980 and has exhibited in numerous solo, group, and jury exhibits. She designed her own art study program which included five years in Carmella Yager’s Painting and Drawing intensive at The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. This experimental class sharpened Carmela’s drawing and painting skills and strengthened her creative process.

Carmela was commissioned by Boston’s Palmer and Dodge Law Firm to create a painting for their collection. The image was used for their 1998 Christmas card. She has created paintings for set design and has painted murals for schools and private homes.

An established yoga instructor, she credits her creative process with the benefits of yoga. Her work is imbued with the themes of motion, energy, calmness, and balance. “These qualities are essential when designing for corporations,” says Carmela. In 2009 she curated an exhibit at Riverside Park in Cambridge MA.

Carmela earned her B.A. European History from City College, NY and her M.A. from Boston College in English Literature. She is a tour guide at the Institute of contemporary Art, Boston.
